Novel Flu Vaccine Delivery Systems

In addition to an increase in the types of available influenza vaccines, manufacturers have also added new delivery methods. In 2012, the first intradermal influenza vaccine (administered between skin layers rather than into the muscle) was approved for use.  In 2014, the first jet injector (vaccine delivery device using high-pressure) to administer influenza vaccine became available.
